Why getting kids involved in cooking?

During this camp, kids will have the  chance to cook a meal ( BBQ )and serve each other. Take this opportunity and bring out the best cooking skills in your child.Here are some reasons why we should involve kids in cooking at an early age.

Social-Emotional Development:

Hands on cooking activities help children develop confidence and skill. Following recipes encourages children to be self directed and independent, it also teaches them to follow directions and develop problem-solving skills.

Physical Development:

Fine motor and eye-hand coordination skills are developed by chopping, mixing, squeezing, and spreading. 

​

Cognitive Development:

Cooking encourages children’s thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also allows children the opportunity to use the knowledge they have and apply it by counting, measuring, following a sequence, following directions, and cause and effect.

Language Development:

Cooking offers the opportunity to develop language development by linking it to all other areas, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, and Literacy. This is done by encouraging children to talk about what they are doing, counting, and watching materials change color,and texture.

 

2.Virtual Art & Creativity.

Through our arts and craft activities, children will learn to value and appreciate artifacts and images across cultures and times. Experience in design, art, and crafts enable them to reflect critically on their own work and those by others. They learn to act and think like designers and artists, working intelligently and creatively.

 

3.The Greatest Outdoors.

At our camps we spend an amazing time at ROKKO GREENIA ATHLETIC PARK and ROKKO NATUREHOUSE where children will spend more time outdoors and stay away from technology which helps their physical well-being, and improve their emotional and intellectual health, too. We have tons of outdoor activities for all kids to enjoy fully.

 

From our previous camps, kids who used to have less sleep at night turned out to sleep throughout the night and it was even hard to wake them up in the morning.

4.Bring Back Tradition.

We have designed traditional activities for kids to enjoy during these camp programs. We will learn about traditional things, why we should keep them and enjoy campfires.

 

Children will learn about the traditional way of making fire and all the safety precautions.
